Some years ago – never mind how long precisely – having little or no money, a lot of naïve idealism, and nothing particular to interest us in Texas, we thought we would go about a little and see the world. Over the next 15 years or so we acquired a beautiful daughter, a lot of memories, an un-useful second language, and surprisingly satisfying careers in accounting and software design. We moved nine times. Riots were started. Hobbies and nebulae flamed to life and died. We added extra pages to our passports, but eventually landed back home. Now somewhat settled, our garage has become overrun with tools, and our house by plants and dogs. We enjoy quiet times with good company, dogs, spending time outside, and spreadsheets that foot and cross-foot. But mostly we like making things.
